Sunny Sunday #3

June 9, 2008 · Leave a Comment

Well actually it’s Monday today…but a long weekend so it FEELS like Sunday still…

And what made me feel sunny this week WAS the sun. We had friends stay from interstate. It was miserable and rainy on Saturday AND Today but on Sunday when we had plans to head into the city, the sun shone down. It was still cool, but it was beautiful.

We took the train into the city and BC walked in his walker a really long way (for anyone who knows Melbourne city that equals from Federation Square all the way to Birrarung Marr).

BC and I (and our friends) rode a Ferris Wheel up really high and Bean tried to break his way into the Merry-Go-Round (he looked everywhere for the entrance and eventually tried to slide under the fence on his tummy). We ate Indonesian food on the beachfront at St Kilda and saw starfish and black swans on the beach. BC and his dad built sandcastles and Bean tried to break away into the sea (he made it to ankle depth). BC tried to take his walker on to the sand, which didn’t work, but walked a long way (again!) along the beachside boardwalk, which is all new (to me) but in actual fact has probably been there for years.

It’s silly that you need someone from out of town come to visit before you venture out to explore your own city, but we did have a really nice time.

Thank-you sunny Sunday for being so sunny!!!
